The Subsidiaries functionality that is available for all Director accounts allows you to segment access to data at the Director level by different Subsidiaries. For instance if you have certain staff members who manage only your California venues, and you want them to have Director access for the data related to just those locations, but not your other locations, you can use the Subsidiaries function to segment your team accordingly.
Note: If you've been using Director without Subsidiaries and do not need to restrict access to the data at Director for other Director users, you do not need to do any Subsidiary setup.
By default all Director accounts have a single Subsidiary with the name of your Director account. If all Director users should have access to all your stores you do not need to make any changes. If however you do want to segment out your team's access you should start at the Director Level by going to Stores & Markets > Subsidiaries, and adding and renaming your Subsidiaries as required. Keep in mind when creating your subsidiaries that each store can only be allocated one subsidiary.
Once you've created all relevant subsidiaries, go to the Stores page (still under Stores & Markets in the navigation). From here you can allocate a Subsidiary to a store by clicking on the text in the Subsidiary column for the row for the location.
This will open a popup where you can select a different subsidiary - click Update Subsidiary to save.
Once you've allocated different Subsidiaries to your stores when you go to the Store Switcher page, you'll see your stores broken out by each Subsidiary:
This structure has also been extended to the Team Accounts, where you can assign different subsidiaries to each user.
The Subsidiaries that are allocated to the user define which stores they'll have access to.
What does this mean for users?
If a Director user is allocated to only one subsidiary they will not see a subsidiary designation on the Store Switcher page:
But if they are allocated to more than one Subsidiary they will see the stores segmented out by the Subsidiary, like in the image below:
Director Data & Reports
Director reports that previously included a Store or Market filter now also include a Subsidiary option. Users who are only allocated some of the subsidiaries will only be able to run reports and see data that relates to the stores within their allocated subsidiaries.
